A lovely easy to read story that kept my attention throughout, there are quite a few unexpected twists that unfold and lots of action towards the end. Even though romance is not my usual genre, paranormal is. I especially like how this book has more than just vampires, there's a mix of werewolves, witches and hybrids too. A great read which I really enjoyed. Anna Santos is an outstanding and remarkably skilled writer. Soul-Mate Book1 is one of her exceptional series. The twist and plot of the story are quite unpredictable unlike any other books.
Shane is a possesive alpha male but becomes uncertain when it comes to his mate. If you are looking for an adventure, romance and drama wi Anna Santos is an outstanding and remarkably skilled writer. If you are looking for an adventure, romance and drama with the supernaturals this is the perfect book for you.
You can feel the characters emotions love, humour, hurt, name it. Soul Mate by Anna Santos had me captivated from the very start. The storyline is brilliant, the characters are bold, bad-ass and daring. I could never wait for the new update of Soul Mate to read further. I didn't want it to end. I read this book on Wattpad and I'm here to give an honest review.
Anna is a hybrid and a kick butt one at that! She's on a journey to find a cure for her brother! But what she finds is so much more then a cure for her brother! She finds sea couple of things that she never thought she would ever have! Danger from the one thing that killed her parents lurks around, mates are bound to be united and blood is shed!
Bad ass characters and good romance! It's not that I didn't like it, but it had some stuff that made reading it harder than it had to be. First off, I knew going into reading it, that Soul-Mate would totally and absolutely have a lust- and love-at-first-sight theme. I'm not a big fan of that, but since the synopsis pretty much screamed insta-lust, I won't consider it in my review.
This is just meant as a little heads-up. Now on to my actual review. They were just constantly having sex. BUT I feel like this book would have worked better if it would have been a little shorter, since it dragged quite a bit and I found myself skimmed some pages. The characters weren't really my type of people either. They were all nicely written and Shane and Anna had some chemistry, but still They were just average, nothing really special about them. Then there was this one scene with the bad guys and Beth and Marie, who are sisters, but I didn't really get the necessarity of that scene and the introducing Beth and Marie as characters.
They didn't appear before that scene, right? If they did indeed, then I guess I just forgot about them as soon as the scene with them was over. Anyway, that scene did nothing for the story in my opinion. It just made me confuse. The end fight was fun and the ending itself was cute, with Anna's brother being awake again, but still I'm not sure if I will be reading the next book. It will probably be about Jason, Anna's cousin and Sasha, Anna's whatwasit again?
See a Problem?
I'm kind of confused about who is whose cousin, aunt, uncle and all. Anyway give it a try if you like the synopsis. For me it was just average and I hate to say that. I must admit, the storyline did have promise but the execution was brutal. It was all over the place. Not well paced at all. The characters felt incredibly immature as well. This just felt like dozens of other YA paranormal romance reads. At least it was offered as a kindleunlimited.
Can she trust Shane? The werewolf who promises her everything? I found that I really adored this story. I think that when Shane and Anna met they have this instant connection. I loved that on certain parts of the book I got to see his POV as well. I think it really brought more to this tale and the characters. This is the type of book where you get the backstory the more you read which I liked. Toward the end of the story, we get to see a new POV introducing the villain.
In the chapter you really get to see just how mad and crazy he is. I felt scared for the characters myself. We have the chance to learn a lot about the man, and what he is really like. On top of that, I saw a few sentences in the story that just sounded off. Along with a couple of editing quirks, but I am sure that is something to be fixed. In the end I think the story, plot, and idea were great. The author wrote the characters perfectly, and I could see myself reading the next book.
She had a nice balance of details, and a nice writing style. Every writer has a different way of doing things, but I liked hers. It is defiantly worth a read. Even though paranormal is my favourite genre, I was surprised how much I loved this book. I became very irritated when I had to stop reading and I carried my kindle with me everywhere I went. One of the reasons I love paranormal is because there are no rules.
The author can let their imagination run free and Anna Santos certainly did that. Anna Santos made it her own. I loved the main characters, Annabelle and Shane, individually as well as together. Anna Santos knows her craft well and the words flowed across the pages, making the whole experience even better. Anna Santos is a brilliant author. I absolutely love her work and Soul-mate is one of the best stories I've read. Her brilliant characters are beautifully developed and dynamic, and they just draw you into the story so easily.
Annabel is an intriguing character; a totally bad ass hunter and powerful hybrid who doesn't trust people easily but at the same time extremely vulnerable and caring. I really enjoyed reading her story. Shane is an absolutely perfect male lead; spending hundreds of years sea Anna Santos is a brilliant author. Shane is an absolutely perfect male lead; spending hundreds of years searching for his mate and finally finding Anna, someone who could leave him all too easily and doing everything he can to make her stay. The strong and powerful Sheriff of a Supernatural town brought to his knees the moment he lays eyes on his beautiful mate.
This world of supernatural creatures is completely enthralling and so easy to read. With Werewolves, Vampires, Hybrids, Shifters, and Witches there is definitely something for everyone in this book and you cannot possibly go wrong in choosing to read it. It has the perfect amount of plot twists in it and it leaves us with small cliff hanger, or maybe it's just to leave us expecting for the next book. Whatever it may be called, I loved it! The characters are really good. Annabel is strong and it w I received an e-ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Annabel is strong and it wouldn't be wrong to say powerful. I think Annabel is the mirror image of Ms Santos.
I loved Shane, though protective, he knows that she's strong and respects her for that! We need more men like this in the society! And, boy, do I love secrets! Each of these unravel slowly throughout the book, and they leave your mouths hanging. They're completely unexpected and brilliant! Ms Santos is a very promising writer.
I hope to read so much more of her works in the future! I read the first draft of this book, and was hooked from the very start. Anna is a brilliant writer, she crafted this story so masterfully that her reader would not be able to stop reading. I have not read this new improved version, but I have no doubt that the story and its characters are even more enthralling. If this is just the first book in the Immortal Love Series then there is definitely only one way for the talented writer to go and its up. I would recommend Anna Santos books to anyone wh I read the first draft of this book, and was hooked from the very start.
I would recommend Anna Santos books to anyone who is hungry for adventure, romance and the paranormal. A prefect blend of all three genres which any true book lover would appreciate. Omg the greatest book. I couldn't put it down once I started but was sad when it ended. I have read it three times because the love that in between the main people is what everyone wants. It brings you to a special place that you don't want to leave. There is action, love and a bunch more. You won't be disappointed if you read this. I highly recommend this book.
Anna Santos has a way of captivating the readers and i was definitely engaged in the story wanting to read more.
Trust Me Series
The book is very well written and the story is awesome. All in all, it's an awesome book. Jul 21, Sherry Fundin rated it liked it Shelves: The whole town is filled with weres, vampires, and hybrids. We will have insta-love and I can live with that in the supernatural world. As soon as Shane sets eyes on her, gets a sniff, he knows Annabelle is his Soul-Mate.
Not so with her. The erotic, jump in the sack, first part of the book bored me. I never had a chance to connect to the characters before hand…I rarely do this, but I started skimming the pages, wanting to get to the heart of the story. And I found it. Annabelle is a hunter. I guess you could say her and Shane, a werewolf sheriff, have some things in common. They are both out to get the bad guy. We read from two perspectives, his and hers. I like seeing the story that way and Anna Santos did a great job with it.
It was hilarious, picturing Shane, spying on Annabelle from a tree, nekkid. I think there is more to the story than first meets the eye. I really want to know more about Jessica…. So…check it out for yourself, if you like hot and sexy, erotic, paranormal reads. He has almost lost Annabel is a bad-ass hybrid hunter, seeking revenge from the vampire who killed her parents and put her brother in a coma. I felt for Annabel from the first page.
Santo puts such feeling into her characters that you hurt when they do. She makes Annabel likable yet mysterious and confusing yet intriguing as well. Shane is the typical alpha werewolf living out his lonely existence waiting on his intended soulmate to fall in his lap. The misunderstood and hated of the shifter breeds. The reader spends a third of this book in a daze of hot steamy sex; a third had the reader watching Annabel work to rectify the past and the remaining third watching Shane fawn all over Annabel.
It makes for an interesting yet sometimes irritatingly sweet. About the Author Anna Santos is an up-and-coming New Adult and Young Adult author with an impressive number of followers who builds worlds of undeniable beauty, with witty and enchanting characters. She is currently working on Book 2 and Book 3 in the Immortal Love series. Anna always keeps her readers on their toes with her adrenaline-fueled adventures, suspense-filled cliffhangers, and steamy love scenes.
Soul Mate for Sale by Kian Rhodes
When she isn't writing, Anna is considering plot twists for her next novel or delving into the world of her favorite authors. She loves superheroes, and she's a geek at heart. She grew up watching Star Wars and plotting a way to become a Ninja. She has a fascination for Chinese Kung Fu movies and cherry blossom flowers. She also enjoys writing poetry, watching a good movie, and spending time with her husband and family in Portugal, where she lives.
I recieved a digital copy of this book in return for an honest review. This story was different than other books that I have read, in a good way for the most part. I was really excited to read the book from the blurb. Annabel is a hunter and is undercover trying to find a pureblood vampire to save her brother. Shane is the sheriff in the town. Annabel and Shane meet her first night in town and once Shane gets a whiff of her, he knows that she is his mate. Shane believes that she is human so as he pursues her hard he doesn't tell her that she is his mate or that he This story was different than other books that I have read, in a good way for the most part.
Shane believes that she is human so as he pursues her hard he doesn't tell her that she is his mate or that he is a werewolf. Annabel doesn't automatically know that he is her mate because she is a hybrid but she is drawn to him like no other. She doesn't want him to be sad or upset, especially with her and doesn't want to be away from him either. Since she doesn't have the automatic knowledge for the why of this, it is confusing for her. She decides to go ahead and continue seeing Shane because she can't seem to not and so changes her approach to her assignment. This story has a bunch of twists and turns that are not expected that keeps you guessing what is going to happen next.
The information is given in pieces which makes it harder to figure it out. The story line is very good and written very well. The story moves smoothly and doesn't ever feel slow. Nov 05, A Voracious Reader a. Read full review in the April issue of InD'tale Magazine. May 03, Ayse Isil Ari rated it it was amazing Shelves: Got as freebie via instafreebie. His name is Ryder. He has been with her since she was born. She talks to him and he talks to her. Everyone thinks Rider is an imaginary friend. The only person that believes Rachel about Rider is her best friend Paige.
The three become best friends. Rider is always included and always has an opinion. He is accepted but wishes he had his own body. She gets a fresh start in a new school where no one knows her or about Rider. She meets a nice group of friends and even catches the eye of Jason who belongs to the popular group. Rachel likes how Jason makes her feel special. She wants to fit in. However her actions lead to devastating consequences. Ones she never thought possible until they do. She loses her best friend.
This story was unique. The author uses the soulmate term in the literal form in this story. Rachel and Rider share the same body. Rider is an interesting character. That adds to the dynamic of the story. You also have Rachel trying to be accepted at her new school where she only had Paige as her friend in her old one. She learns her lesson at a huge cost.
Her devastation afterwards is realistic. You can feel her panic when she realizes the truth. I like how things comes together in the end. It is a definite lesson learned story. Two souls, one body. Poor Rachel, not only does she have to navigate the normal teenage growing pains, but she has a boy living in her head. Rider has his own personality and desires so he is NOT an imaginary friend. After making the mistake of trying to explain about Rider in grade school, Rachel quickly learns to keep him a secret from everyone, except her bestie Paige. After a tragic accident it seems Rider is just gone.
How can Rachel every find him or accept the fact that she may Soulmates? How can Rachel every find him or accept the fact that she may never hear from Rider again. The support of her friends and family help her get through the heartbreak. This story also delves into the very real consequence of teenage drinking and drug use as well as peer presure. Great story all around, but does jump around a little with a loss of continuity but not enough to interrupt the story line.
Jul 16, Destiny Bridwell rated it really liked it. I saw this in a newsletter as a recommendation and decided that I would give it a chance. I had heard of this book before, but it was a time that I already had too much on my plate. Now it has come around again I did get to read it. Rachel has been born with another soul in her body with her. They have always been close and more of best friends. She does not like how others say she is talking to herself when they don't understand her life and what a special gift she has been given. She moves and I saw this in a newsletter as a recommendation and decided that I would give it a chance.
She moves and begins a new start to life. She meets a new guy and this causes Rider to do things because he thinks that he is losing Rachel. What did the accident cause and will it ever be the same between Rachel and Rider? I know but you will need to read it for yourself.
Soul Mate for Sale
This story although a total fiction, is within the realm of believable possibilities in so far as that kids can be that cruel as to tease. Thanks for the escapism read. Looking forward to more. Rachel would have been more likely forced to undergo psychiatric evaluation by the well meaning staff and drug treatment strongly encouraged. Bleak, but more likely. Nov 03, John rated it really liked it Shelves: What a touching and heart wrenching tale Kellie McAllen has told in this first book of her Soulmate series. I really enjoyed the back and forth between Rider and Rachel, as it contributed to the lighter side of the story.
It was of course also a story about all the emotions related to a girl's first kiss, first date, and maybe first love, as well as the trials and tribulations of being the new kid in school. I look forward to reading the next books in the series. Is Rachel's invisible friend her soulmate? Invisible friend, that is what Rider was for Rachel. He was always with her. He knew her thoughts, her likes, her dislikes. Rider's sarcastic comments on her life keep her company at all times. But now at 15, she seems to be moving on without him. Boys who can hold her hand, can embrace her, even kiss her, have captured her interest.
What is her soulmate to do? A very different story from all others!! I really enjoyed reading about a unique story about one body but two souls! Rachel has control of the body she inhabits, but Rider is another soul that inhabits her mind. This is truly one story that you will remember because you wonder if it's possible! I couldn't wait to finish the book. Of course as one would except tragedy must happen before they can truly become soulmates. Their lives change as tragedy strikes them both an separates them both from each other physically do miracles really happen.
Jul 02, Lesley rated it really liked it Shelves: Delightful and Unusual Though this book begins and ends with a death, it is a gentle story with a HFN ending. In fact if it had not been for the second death, Rider would not have had a life of his own. Whilst I am hardly the target audience, I love Ms McAllen's books and recommend this as a charming read. This book is part of a trilogy but can be read as a standalone. The author triggered everything that a 15 year old feels like, she made anybody nostalgic about my ways of how i used to decide things, for example a crush on someone I used to be silly when i was a 15 year old, I would defiantly recommend this book who is new to young adults.

This one is about Rachel and Ryder When something happens to change everything Do they want it to be the same? Cannot wait for book 2. Different Interesting and different. An intriguing idea about souls and what part of the personality they are. I have a problem with these reviews because they require a certain amount of words when I don't always have that much to say. Was ok I liked the idea of this book. But it didn't grab me and draw me in. I didn't relate or build and bond with the characters. What happened to rider was obvious to me. And although it was written ok it just wasn't for me.
Fun, cute read I felt this was a well written, plotted out book. Rachel's life did seem a little rushed, but realistic. I loved the fact that Paige stayed in the picture. Enjoy this one, you will be back for more! Mar 28, Betsy rated it really liked it.
